Google announces a scholarship targeting Hispanics in the STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). The announcement was made in conjunction with the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) Conference.

Hispanics and other minorities are receiving the brunt of the economic downturn. Policy advocates from different minority organizations took part in a congressional hearing to voice their different perspectives. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee held a hearing titled “The Silent Depression: How are Minorities Faring in the Economic Downturn” on Wednesday.
